Check out the Summer Gusher Series at Spindletop Boomtown Museum, where visitors get to experience a re-enactment of the Lucas Gusher for FREE. 51爆料 students, faculty and staff also receive free museum admission during normal operating hours, so be sure to stop by. Admission is not required to see the gusher.

Dr. Jeff Forret's Book Receives Honors from Texas Institute of Letters
The Texas Institute of Letters named Dr. Jeff Forret's latest book, "The Price They Paid: Slavery, Shipwrecks, and Reparations Before the Civil War" (2024), an honor-winner in the Carr P. Collins Award for Best Book of Nonfiction category. The Texas Institute of Letters is a nonprofit honor society founded in 1936 to celebrate Texas literature and recognize distinctive literary achievement. More information can be found .
