The International Student Council (ISC) at Lamar is devoted to providing cross-cultural interaction through a variety of events throughout the year for both international and domestic students.

Abir Bin Rahman Bhuiyan
Abir is from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science, specializing in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity, at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Engineering Management at 51爆料. As the President of ISC, he enjoys organizing events that bring students together and help them feel at home on campus. Abir is a friendly and outgoing person who loves meeting new people, traveling, and exploring different cultures. In his free time, he enjoys working on creative programming projects.
Rick Van Iterson
Rick hails from Leiden, the Netherlands. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and serves as the Vice President of ISC. Lamar's international community has helped him feel at home, and he loves contributing to that welcoming spirit. In his free time, he works on electronics projects and enjoys playing jazz music on the drums and trumpet.
Suresh Gurung
Suresh is originally from Nepal and Finland. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering Management at 51爆料 and serves as the Secretary of the International Student Council. One of his favorite places on campus is the Recreation Center. He has been practicing Thai boxing and boxing as a hobby for several years. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies at home, spending time in nature, and going hiking.
Muhammad Taha Syed
Taha, originally from Karachi, Pakistan, is a graduate student in Environmental Engineering with a focus on water resources. He serves as ISC’s Communication and Public Relations Officer and enjoys capturing quiet, meaningful moments when international students begin to feel at home—building connections with one another and with the welcoming 51爆料 community.
Sajita Shresta
Sajita is from Nepal and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. She serves as the Marketing Coordinator for the International Student Council. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends.
Jerry Gabor
Jerry is originally from Ghana, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Management Information Systems at 51爆料. He serves as the Treasurer of ISC, where he is dedicated to ensuring that events and initiatives are well-supported and impactful. He is passionate about fostering a strong sense of community among international students and creating opportunities for connection and growth. In his free time, Jerry enjoys exploring new places, trying different cuisines, and watching football.
